this is a sketch i did during art lesson

this is the original sketch and after changing the colour balance…

then add filter!

this sketch was done during art lesson haha. no reference so some parts look abit weird =\ anyway its suppose to be a beautified version of a basilisk basilisk is kind of a rooster and sepernt merged, and is the king of sepernts, and can kill with its gaze (that accounts for the rooster like hair, the crown like thing, the scales and the bandaged eyes)

i like this piece a lot, especially how the crown turned out. though i should have cleaned it a little more in photoshop, like the back part of the neck, where the hair is a bit jagged. maybe i should make it a little more grostique, since basilisk is supposedly a very “vile” creature (as according to wikipedia lols). i could have made the hair more feather like so as to resemble the feathers of a rooster more, and perhaps colour the tips of the hair. my sis suggested that i make the crow/helm/headdress into  a more rooster like shape, like add a beak at the front to make it more rooster-ish. quite true, since the headdress look more demonish rather then suggest that the character is a basilisk. one thing i could really work on is the armour. it look very flat in the picture =\ the design look like pattern on the armour instead of jutting out from the armour. perhaps i should go and dig up some pictures on medival knights and stuff haha. but anyway i am still happy with  it
