hahah here is my cover page for my maths portfolio. note! i did not draw those pictures! got them from clip arts lala.
i arranged the pictures in sort of a tornado-ish shape. it sprang from the idea that yups, maths is one whole big tornado spinning and sucking in all those paper and pen and compasses and ipods (oops) cool right!

these are the pages from my final coursework 😀 the theme is gender discrimination in india. its inspired by a newspaper article, “desperate bachelors”. the orientation of the book is always changing 😀 took me a realllyyyy long time to get the orientation correct on indesign D: happy figuring out how to read it -grins-

comments: haha hmm the final piece is not all that wonderful, but its definitely an improvement from the previous draft.i used darker colours for the background, and it helped alot in bringing out the colour of the girl, as well as create depth in the painting. i could work on creating texture though, cos the picture seem to be too smooth, and perhaps paint some pattern on the russian dolls, cos they look kinda of plain the way it is =\ for the faces, i could try to somewat merge them to create a more flowly effect, to illustrate how the faces changeds as time flowed past. i could try to make the faces look more like they are painted on, like using cell shading and bold lines, especially for the hair. that way it would suggest more that they are the faces of the doll rather than random floating heads lols.

hahaha omg the grad mag is so nice! except some pics very blur =\ but its still so pretty!
below is my class page, and yups i did the boarder design (the rabbit, the grass, and that whole circle of little flowerish things) 😀 i did it in 15 minutes flat! woohooo! cos our class kinda forgot it until the last minute, so yea i spend chinese lesson doing this 😀

haha first time i see you paint in watercolour-ish style actually. usually associate you with acrylic, so its a very refreshing change 😀 i like the way you blend in a myraid of colours, and allow the colour to show through. i especially liked the way you painted the river, simple and clean, yet capturing the calm feel of the river very well. one thing which you perhaps can improve on is the details, like the texture of the tea and the red bean buns, cos everything seem very smooth, so adding some rough texture will make the picture look more interesting. another thing is the perspective. the perspective of the red bean buns and the tea seem a little different. but anyway nice work 😀

this is a sketch i did during art lesson 😀
this is the original sketch and after changing the colour balance…

this sketch was done during art lesson haha. no reference so some parts look abit weird =\ anyway its suppose to be a beautified version of a basilisk 😀 basilisk is kind of a rooster and sepernt merged, and is the king of sepernts, and can kill with its gaze (that accounts for the rooster like hair, the crown like thing, the scales and the bandaged eyes)

i like this piece a lot, especially how the crown turned out. though i should have cleaned it a little more in photoshop, like the back part of the neck, where the hair is a bit jagged. maybe i should make it a little more grostique, since basilisk is supposedly a very “vile” creature (as according to wikipedia lols). i could have made the hair more feather like so as to resemble the feathers of a rooster more, and perhaps colour the tips of the hair. my sis suggested that i make the crow/helm/headdress into a more rooster like shape, like add a beak at the front to make it more rooster-ish. quite true, since the headdress look more demonish rather then suggest that the character is a basilisk. one thing i could really work on is the armour. it look very flat in the picture =\ the design look like pattern on the armour instead of jutting out from the armour. perhaps i should go and dig up some pictures on medival knights and stuff haha. but anyway i am still happy with it 😀
